Top 10 Soul Artists of All TimeHere are LYFSTYL’s Top 10 favourite Soul Artists of All Time. It is a requirement that everyman must own an album or at least a few songs from these great men listed below. These men by no means created love songs - they simply removed the cheesiness and made great fucking love songs that have actively gotten men laid since the beginning of time.
- Marvin Gaye
- Sam Cooke
- Otis Redding
- Al Green
- Teddy Pendergrass
- Isaac Hayes
- Ben E King
- Curtis Mayfield
- Bobby Cadwell
- Luther Vandross
I made you kids a little mixtape filled with few of my favourite oldies that will no doubt have the women of your dreams melting. Before you hit the download button and due to legalities I had to put a little disclaimer.
Warning:LYFSTYL cannot be held responsible for any babies that were made while listening to these musicians in the company of women.
Thanks for the download! Question: It’s a totally awesome list. Obviously, this isn’t my personal list. Should this be called, “Top Ten favourite MALE soul artists,” instead?
Otis Redding, Merry Christmas Baby
A soulful holiday so far. I hope ya’ll have a great one

Prince’s American Bandstand Debut… RIP Dick Clark
Prince American Bandstand Debut (1980) by AbzPunkPhoto
Prince sings “I Wanna Be Your Lover” & “Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad”, Dick Clark interviews Prince between the songs.
RIP Dick, you will be missed.
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS.
Late 70s/Early 80s Disco Prince LYING ABOUT HIS AGE (he is 22 at this time, not 19) and HOLDING UP HIS HAND WITH 4 FINGERS IN DICK CLARK’S FACE instead of actually speaking the number “4” and acting in general, like a shy toddler in hot pants.
It’s not really music exploration, but more of a retro-analysis / review / memorial….I remember watching music shows like American Bandstand on Saturday afternoons during the 70s and 80s….Dick, you will be dearly missed, my friend.
Kraftwerk — The Robots
Retro re-blogging with electronic music pioneer Kraftwerk’s 1978 “The Robots” track…Anybody remember 78? As I recalled it, it wasn’t too bad. The Knack had formed, and the Dead Kennedys played their first concert….Grease, Superman, Animal House, Halloween & other classic movies came out during that same year.
Artist: The Chameleons
Track: In Shreds
Album: What Does Anything Mean? Basically
Year: 1985
I’m reminiscing about my old ‘post punk’ days. Oh, what a ride!
