nprmusic:

Congratulations to Adele on her Oscar nomination for “Skyfall”! Here she is performing a stripped-down set at the Tiny Desk.

I may have already posted this NPR video here, but what the hey! It’s Adele, right?!

the first comment pretty much sums it up, but there is no one that our generation has like Adele. i’m not one of those people who goes apeshit over music artists and acts like they’re the savior of the world, but i will say that i think Adele’s presence in the scene bode well for the future of music in general. i hope so, anyway. if nothing else, she always nails live performances. like, katy perry or beyoncé or really anyone else really don’t sound that good live, and are generally moving around too much to song anyway, so their studio recordings sound great, but everything else is shit. as far as i can tell, Adele’s live performances are always as impeccable as her studio recordings, and it’s often hard to tell the difference between the two. that is the kind of talent i can get behind.
